6 Star Management is seeking a Leasing Agent to join the onsite team at The SLO in San Luis Obispo, California, a 91-unit community. This position plays a key role in supporting occupancy goals, driving leasing activity, and creating a positive experience for prospective and current residents. The ideal candidate is personable, motivated, and sales-minded, with strong customer service skills and the ability to build rapport quickly. This role requires someone who can effectively present the value of the community, follow up consistently with prospects, and contribute to resident satisfaction and retention through professional, responsive service.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Greet prospective residents, current residents, vendors, and visitors in a professional, courteous, and welcoming manner
- Conduct property tours and effectively present apartment homes, amenities, and community features to prospective residents
- Respond promptly to leasing inquiries by phone, email, online sources, and walk-in traffic, and maintain consistent follow-up with prospects
- Support occupancy goals by converting leads into applications and applications into move-ins through strong sales, follow-through, and customer service
- Assist prospective residents with the application and leasing process, including providing accurate information regarding pricing, availability, lease terms, and community policies
- Use AppFolio to manage guest cards, applications, prospect follow-up, leasing traffic, resident communication, notices, and general leasing and administrative activity
- Maintain accurate and organized records in AppFolio, including prospect information, communication history, application status, and resident files
- Prepare leases, notices, correspondence, and other leasing or resident-related documentation as needed
- Support move-ins, move-outs, renewals, and resident retention efforts in coordination with the onsite team
- Respond to resident questions, concerns, and office-related matters in a timely, professional, and service-oriented manner, and escalate issues as appropriate
- Help maintain the appearance, cleanliness, and presentation of the leasing office, model units, and tour path
- Coordinate with the Property Manager, Assistant Property Manager, and maintenance team regarding resident needs, service request follow-up, and community operations
- Assist with outreach, marketing, and other leasing-related activities that support traffic, conversions, and occupancy
- Maintain a polished, professional, and service-focused image when representing the property and management company
- Perform other duties as assigned in support of property operations and business needs
Key Qualifications:
- Prior experience in leasing, sales, customer service, property management, or a related field preferred
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and sales skills, with the ability to build rapport and create a positive experience for prospective residents
- Ability to professionally present apartment homes and effectively communicate the value of the community
- Strong follow-up, organizational, and time management skills
- Experience using property management software such as AppFolio for guest cards, applications, resident files, notices, and leasing activity preferred
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced, customer-facing environment
- Professional demeanor, dependable attendance, and a positive, service-oriented attitude
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a team-oriented environment
- Basic administrative and computer skills, including email, data entry, and document management
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation may be required based on business needs Additional Requirements (Education, Training, and Experience):
- High school diploma or GED required
- Prior experience in leasing, sales, customer service, office administration, or a related field preferred
Pay:
