Job Description
The Supervisory Realty Specialist in the Office of Real Property provides support for one or more of ORP's programs. This includes prospectus level leasing, land acquisition and disposition, land use, special real property projects, and implementation of policies and procedures for those programs. The Supervisory Realty Specialist provides management and supervision to Realty Specialists who are executing the work of these programs and conducting real estate actions on behalf of the Department.

One year of specialized experience (equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the federal service); experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities (KSA's) and other characteristics to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled, in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization.Specialized experience includes:
Leading and supervising a team of realty specialists by planning work to be accomplished, setting and adjusting priorities, assigning projects based on complexity and staff capabilities, and reviewing work products for technical adequacy, policy compliance, and timeliness. Managing a portfolio of complex real property projects, monitoring scope, schedule, and budget, and holding staff accountable for delivering high-quality, compliant acquisition and lease execution results. Providing day-to-day supervisory leadership, including coaching and mentoring staff; conducting performance planning and evaluations; addressing performance and conduct issues; making hiring, promotion, and award recommendations; and identifying and arranging training and development opportunities. Representing the organization in high-level internal and external meetings, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders to explain, justify, and resolve significant or controversial leasing issues. Interpreting and applying Federal real estate and acquisition statutes, regulations, and policies to provide authoritative guidance to staff on complex leasing matters, resolve escalated issues, and recommend process improvements that enhance program effectiveness and efficiency. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. The Interagency Career Transition Assistance Plan (ICTAP) and Career Transition Assistance Plan (CTAP) provide eligible displaced VA competitive service employees with selection priority over other candidates for competitive service vacancies. To be qualified you must submit appropriate documentation (a copy of the agency notice, your most recent performance rating, and your most recent SF-50 noting current position, grade level, and duty location) and be found well-qualified for this vacancy.
