Job Overview Join our dynamic team as an Apartment Leasing Consultant, where your enthusiasm and customer-focused approach will drive leasing success and enhance resident satisfaction. In this energetic role, you will serve as the first point of contact for prospective residents, guiding them through the leasing process with professionalism and care. Your expertise in property management, legal compliance, and sales will ensure a seamless experience for applicants while maintaining adherence to Fair Housing regulations and Section 8 guidelines. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in real estate administration, conflict management, and property leasing within a vibrant community environment. Duties Greet prospective residents warmly, providing detailed tours of available apartments and community amenities to showcase the property's best features. Manage all aspects of the leasing process, including application intake, data entry into property management systems like Yardi or OneSite, and contract preparation. Ensure compliance with LIHTC (Low-Income Housing Tax Credit), Section 8, Fair Housing laws, and other legal requirements during all leasing activities. Conduct thorough background checks, verify income documentation, and process lease approvals efficiently while maintaining confidentiality. Upsell available units and community services by highlighting benefits that meet residents' needs, fostering positive relationships through excellent customer service. Handle conflict resolution tactfully between prospects or residents, ensuring a fair and respectful environment aligned with landlord-tenant law. Collaborate with property maintenance teams to coordinate move-ins/move-outs and address any resident concerns promptly. Maintain accurate records through filing systems, data entry, and CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) updates to ensure operational efficiency. Qualifications Proven experience in property management or real estate administrative roles; familiarity with property leasing is highly preferred. Strong knowledge of landlord-tenant law, Fair Housing regulations, LIHTC programs, and Section 8 housing policies. Proficiency with Yardi, OneSite, or similar property management software; experience with data entry and office administrative tasks is essential. Excellent customer service skills combined with effective phone etiquette and negotiation abilities to upsell units confidently. Demonstrated conflict management skills to handle sensitive situations professionally while adhering to legal standards. Office experience including filing, contracts management, and general administrative support; legal administrative experience is a plus. Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail in contracts and documentation. Strong communication skills to foster positive relationships with residents, prospects, vendors, and team members.
