Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Apartment Leasing Consultant to join our vibrant property management team. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for prospective residents, guiding them through the leasing process with enthusiasm and professionalism. Your expertise in property leasing, customer service, and legal administrative procedures will ensure a seamless experience for applicants while maintaining compliance with Fair Housing regulations and Section 8 guidelines. This position offers an exciting opportunity to showcase your sales skills, property management knowledge, and conflict management abilities in a fast-paced environment dedicated to excellence. Duties Greet prospective residents warmly and conduct engaging property tours, highlighting features and amenities to upsell units effectively. Manage the leasing process from initial inquiry through application approval, ensuring all documentation is accurate and complete using Yardi or OneSite property management software. Verify applicant information, including LIHTC (Low-Income Housing Tax Credit) eligibility, Section 8 status, and other income requirements, adhering to Fair Housing laws. Negotiate lease terms and prepare contracts while ensuring compliance with legal standards and landlord-tenant law. Maintain detailed records of all leasing activities, data entry, filing, and correspondence within property management systems such as Yardi or OneSite. Address resident concerns promptly with excellent phone etiquette and conflict management skills, fostering positive relationships. Collaborate with maintenance teams to coordinate property upkeep and ensure units are ready for new residents. Assist with administrative tasks including filing, data entry, CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) updates, and general office support to streamline operations. Qualifications Proven experience in property leasing or real estate administrative roles with a strong understanding of property management practices. Knowledge of LIHTC programs, Section 8 housing regulations, Landlord-Tenant law, and Fair Housing policies. Proficiency in Yardi, OneSite, or similar property management software; experience with Office Suite applications is preferred. Excellent customer service skills combined with effective negotiation abilities to upsell units and close leases confidently. Strong conflict management skills to handle tenant disputes or sensitive situations professionally. Legal administrative experience related to contracts, lease agreements, or housing regulations is highly desirable. Ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently while maintaining attention to detail in data entry and filing tasks. Exceptional communication skills with professional phone etiquette and a friendly demeanor that fosters positive relationships with residents and prospects alike.
