Job Description

We are seeking a full-time General Practice & Real Estate Legal Assistant to join our team. This role is a great fit for someone who is organized, personable, detail-oriented, and comfortable supporting a busy legal office across multiple practice areas. This position will primarily assist with general practice matters, reception, and office support, while also providing daily support to the real estate department, including preparation of title commitments and title policies. The ideal candidate is professional, dependable, and willing to jump in where needed to keep the office running smoothly.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide professional and welcoming reception support for clients, attorneys, and visitors Answer phones, direct calls, take messages, and assist with client communication Assist with probate matters and general practice files Prepare, format, and proofread legal documents, correspondence, and pleadings File court documents and assist with electronic filing procedures Prepare title commitments and title policies for real estate matters Provide daily support to the real estate department as needed Maintain client files, calendars, deadlines, and general office organization Conduct basic computer research as needed Assist with scheduling, mail, scanning, copying, and other administrative tasks Assist with bookkeeping or billing-related tasks as requested Support attorneys and team members with day-to-day legal and administrative needs
Qualifications:
5 or more years of legal assistant, receptionist, or law office experience preferred Real estate experience preferred, especially with title commitments and title policies Probate experience is a plus Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills Professional, friendly, and positive communication style Strong typing skills and computer literacy Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and general office software Comfortable handling phone calls, client contact, and confidential information Able to prioritize tasks and stay calm in a busy office environment Willing to work diligently, take initiative, and be a true team player
