Job Description
Ward, Murray, Pace & Johnson, P.C. is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented legal assistant to support attorneys in our trusts, estates, and estate administration practice. The successful candidate will assist with the preparation, drafting, and processing of estate planning documents, trust instruments, wills, powers of attorney, healthcare directives, and related transactional materials. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, a high degree of accuracy, and the ability to manage multiple client matters simultaneously in a fast-paced, client-focused environment. Experience with probate and trust administration matters is strongly preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
Support attorneys with drafting, proofreading, and finalizing estate planning documents, including wills, revocable and irrevocable trusts, powers of attorney, and advance healthcare directives under attorney supervision Support attorneys with the administration of decedents' estates, including preparation of probate petitions, inventories, accountings, and court filings under attorney supervision Support attorneys with preparation of deeds, beneficiary designation correspondence, and asset retitling documents under attorney supervision Maintain and manage client files, deadlines, and follow-up tasks with a high degree of accuracy and confidentiality Communicate professionally with clients, financial institutions, courts, and third parties regarding estate and trust matters. This position requires strong verbal communication skills, specifically communicating with clients over the phone to take messages, schedule appointments, and support attorney with client communication Prepare and file documents with the applicable county circuit courts and state agencies Support attorneys with billing, time entry, and client correspondence Associate's or Bachelor's degree in paralegal studies, legal administration, or related field (Preferred)Pay:
$18.00 - $23.00 per hour Expected hours: 37.5 - 40.0 per weekBenefits:
