This energetic position offers the opportunity to collaborate with experienced appraisers, gather essential data, and develop your expertise in real estate valuation. You will contribute to fair housing practices, financial analysis, and property assessments that impact community development and investment decisions. Duties Assist senior appraisers in collecting comprehensive property data through site visits, measurements, and photographic documentation Conduct quantitative research on comparable properties, market trends, and neighborhood demographics using GIS (Geographic Information Systems) tools Support the preparation of detailed financial reports and appraisal summaries following established guidelines and regulations Gather relevant information related to construction features, property improvements, and zoning requirements to inform valuation estimates Utilize financial software and tools to analyze data, perform calculations related to fair housing regulations, LIHTC (Low-Income Housing Tax Credit), and tax assessments Help ensure compliance with federal Fair Housing regulations by verifying that appraisal practices adhere to equal opportunity standards Maintain organized records of all data collection activities, reports, and correspondence for audit purposes and future reference Experience Prior experience or coursework in accounting, construction management, or real estate appraisal is highly desirable Strong skills in data collection, quantitative research methods, and financial analysis techniques Familiarity with GIS applications, financial software platforms, and basic math concepts used in property valuation Knowledge of LIHTC programs, tax experience related to real estate assets, or experience with financial report writing is a plus Understanding of Fair Housing regulations and their application within appraisal practices Excellent attention to detail combined with strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects efficiently Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing; comfortable working independently or as part of a team This role offers an exciting opportunity to develop your expertise in real estate appraisal while contributing meaningfully to community development initiatives.
