This is a unique opportunity for a construction sales professional with strong relationships, a proven book of business, and the ability to open doors with companies that have ongoing capital improvement, renovation, build-out, expansion, and facility construction needs. The company has grown rapidly through strong client relationships, quality execution, and repeat work. It is now looking for a business development leader who can help identify and secure larger recurring accounts, especially clients with multi-location needs and projects in the $250K-$1M+ range. The ideal candidate has relationships with corporate real estate teams, facilities leaders, property managers, industrial companies, warehouse/distribution groups, trucking/logistics companies, healthcare groups, education clients, retailers, restaurant groups, religious institutions, developers, or national/multi-site commercial clients. This person should be a relationship-driven hunter who can also function as an account manager, staying close to clients before, during, and after projects. Key Responsibilities Build and manage a pipeline of commercial construction opportunities with a focus on recurring and national/multi-site accounts. Target clients with larger commercial projects, ideally $250K+ with a long-term goal of pushing toward $1M+ opportunities. Develop relationships with owners, executives, facilities managers, real estate directors, operations leaders, property managers, and capital project decision-makers. Prospect through calls, site visits, LinkedIn, networking, referrals, associations, existing relationships, and strategic account targeting. Manage inbound leads and qualify project opportunities based on size, scope, timeline, margin potential, and fit. Work closely with ownership and project management to transition sold work into execution. Attend client meetings, site walks, proposal reviews, and relationship-building meetings. Maintain regular communication with existing clients to uncover future work. Help create a repeatable sales process, CRM discipline, target account lists, and follow-up cadence. Represent the company professionally in the Southeast Michigan market and with national account prospects. Ideal Background 5+ years of business development, sales, account management, or national account experience. Strong preference for commercial construction, general contracting, design/build, facilities services, industrial services, property services, building products, restoration, paving, roofing, mechanical/electrical/plumbing, or construction-related sales. Existing book of business or relationships with clients that produce recurring construction work. Experience selling to facility managers, property managers, real estate directors, operations executives, developers, healthcare groups, industrial companies, logistics/warehouse companies, retailers, or multi-location clients. Ability to pursue both local Southeast Michigan work and larger regional/national account opportunities. Strong relationship-building skills, high activity level, and comfort with outbound prospecting. Entrepreneurial mindset and ability to work without heavy corporate structure.
