LEGAL ASSISTANT

PLANNING & TRUST ADMINISTRATION ABOUT THE ROLE
Giarmarco, Mullins & Horton, P.C. is seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented Legal Assistant to support our estate planning, probate, and trust administration practice. We are looking for someone who takes ownership of their work, communicates professionally with clients, and thrives in a fast-paced, high-standard legal environment. This position is best suited for individuals who are proactive, dependable, and take pride in producing accurate, polished work. While prior experience in estate planning and trust administration is preferred, we will consider candidates with strong administrative or client-service backgrounds who are motivated to learn and grow in the legal field.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Manage attorney calendars, client meetings, and critical deadlines
  • Prepare, format, and proofread legal documents, including estate plans and trust administration materials
  • Maintain organized and accurate client files (both digital and physical)
  • Communicate professionally with clients and internal team members
  • Gather and relay information between clients and attorneys
  • Ensure documents are polished, accurate, and client-ready
  • Handle multiple priorities efficiently with minimal supervision
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • 3+ years of experience in a legal or business support role
ESSENTIAL SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel), with experience working within a Microsoft 365 environment preferred
  • Excellent editing, and document formatting skills
  • Clear and professional written and verbal communication
  • Ability to prioritize, stay organized, and meet deadlines
  • High attention to detail—accuracy matters in this role
  • Self-starter who can work independently without constant oversight
  • Professional, client-focused demeanor
  • Ability to build rapport with clients while maintaining efficiency
  • Team-oriented mindset with a willingness to contribute where needed
