Job Description
Overview Our client is a vertically integrated real estate investment and development firm with a growing footprint across North Carolina and the broader Southeast. The firm is seeking an Investments Associate to support acquisitions and ground-up development initiatives, with a primary focus on the North Carolina market. This individual will play a key role in sourcing, underwriting, and executing new investment opportunities, while working closely with senior leadership across investments, development, and asset management. Key Responsibilities Acquisitions Evaluate new acquisition opportunities across targeted asset classes (e.g., multifamily, industrial, mixed-use, or office) Build detailed financial models including cash flow projections, development pro formas, and sensitivity analyses Conduct market research, comparable analysis, and site-level due diligence Assist with LOI submissions, investment memoranda, and internal investment committee materials Coordinate third-party diligence including legal, environmental, engineering, and appraisal teams Support transaction execution from initial underwriting through closing Development Partner with the development team to underwrite and execute ground-up and value-add development projects across North Carolina Assist in feasibility analysis, budgeting, and entitlement evaluation Track project budgets, timelines, and development milestones Support coordination with architects, contractors, municipalities, and consultants Monitor construction draw processes and capital deployment Market Coverage Develop a strong understanding of key North Carolina markets including Raleigh-Durham, Charlotte, and high-growth secondary metros Build relationships with local brokers, developers, and landowners to help generate deal flow Track macro and micro market trends, supply pipelines, and demographic shifts Qualifications 2-4 years of relevant experience in real estate acquisitions, development, investment banking, or private equity Strong financial modeling and underwriting capabilities (ARGUS and/or Excel-based modeling) Demonstrated exposure to real estate transactions and/or development projects Knowledge of North Carolina markets strongly preferred Bachelor's degree in Finance, Real Estate, Economics, or related field Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills Ability to manage multiple transactions and priorities in a fast-paced environment
