Job Description
Position Overview The Leasing Specialist is responsible for actively leasing commercial properties, maintaining strong business relationships, and contributing to the company's overall occupancy and revenue goals. This role requires a proactive, sales-oriented approach with a focus on generating new leasing opportunities. - Coachability and openness to feedback and development Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Actively prospect for commercial tenants through canvassing, networking, cold outreach, and relationship-building
- Conduct property tours and present available commercial spaces to prospective tenants
- Assist in lease negotiations, renewals, and deal structuring
- Prepare proposals, letters of intent, and leasing documentation
- Maintain and develop relationships with brokers, business owners, and local organizations
- Collaborate with District Property Managers to support tenant retention and service excellence
- Coordinate and assist with marketing efforts, including signage, campaigns, and promotional outreach
- Ensure all prospective tenant documentation is complete and compliant with company policies
- Maintain accurate records of leasing activity in the company's CRM system
- Prepare and submit weekly and monthly leasing activity reports
- Monitor property conditions, signage, and unit readiness
- Occasionally assist with residential leasing projects as assigned Qualifications Education and Experience
- High school diploma or GED required
- Previous experience in sales, commission-based roles, or customer-facing positions preferred
- Real estate experience is a plus but not required Communication Skills
- Ability to effectively communicate with internal teams, prospects, and external partners
- Strong presentation and negotiation skills Mathematical Skills
- Ability to calculate basic leasing figures including percentages, rental rates, and prorations Computer Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Ability to learn and utilize CRM and internal systems Reasoning Ability
- Ability to identify opportunities, solve problems, and make sound decisions efficiently
