Trust and Estates Associate

Trusts & Estates Attorney (2-4 Years) - Nassau County, NY A collegial and busy Valley Stream law firm seeking a Trusts & Estates Attorney with 2-4 years of experience to join a developing practice group within a well-established Real Estate law firm. This is an in-person position. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who is comfortable working independently while also thriving in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Draft and implement comprehensive estate plans, including wills, revocable and irrevocable trusts, powers of attorney, and health care directives. Assist clients with elder law and Medicaid planning strategies. Advise clients on estate, gift, and generation-skipping transfer tax planning strategies. Handle all aspects of estate and trust administration, including probate proceedings. Prepare federal and New York estate and gift tax filings. Manage client relationships and matters from inception through completion.

Qualifications :

2-4 years of trusts and estates experience required. Experience with irrevocable trusts/Medicaid planning required. Strong drafting skills and experience with estate planning and administration. Must be highly proficient and comfortable with technology and computer systems. Experience with New York probate procedures and Surrogate's Court practice (including Nassau County and NYC). Familiarity with federal and New York estate and gift tax matters. Excellent communication and client-facing skills. Ability to work independently, manage multiple matters, and take initiative. Interest in business development and practice growth. Active admission to the New York Bar.

Compensation & Benefits:
