Job Description
Canton's locally owned business brokerage office is hiring a Business Transaction Coordinator to support small business owners through the process of buying, selling, and valuing privately held businesses in Northeast Ohio. This is a 1099 independent contractor position. Compensation is commission-based, with coordinators earning $10,000 to $30,000 per closed transaction. Two transactions per quarter is the standard performance expectation, representing $80,000 to $240,000 in annualized gross commission potential. This is not a franchise opportunity. There are no fees, no required purchases, and no buy-in of any kind associated with this position. To support each coordinator's success, the company provides and pays for the following at no cost to the contractor: All technology platforms required to perform the role Business email and office system access CRM and business listing platform access The NASE benefits package, including MetLife $10,000 Term Life Insurance, MetLife Accident Insurance, Assist America emergency travel assistance, roadside reimbursement service, GoodRx prescription savings, and access to health, dental, and vision insurance options The total value of company-provided tools, platforms, and benefits exceeds $3,300 per year per contractor, fully paid by the company. Day-to-Day Responsibilities Meet with small business owners to gather financial and operational information and assess readiness to sell Review tax returns, profit and loss statements, and cash flow records to support preparation of a Broker's Opinion of Value Prepare confidential business listings including descriptions, financial summaries, and marketing materials Screen prospective buyers, collect executed confidentiality agreements, and coordinate introductory meetings Manage transaction files from signed listing agreement through due diligence, offer negotiation, and closing coordination Help prospective buyers evaluate franchise opportunities by matching their financial profile, skills, and goals to available options Build referral relationships with CPAs, business bankers, attorneys, lenders, and financial advisors through networking and community involvement Attend weekly team meetings and collaborate on shared transactions across the office Who We Are Looking For Candidates with backgrounds in residential or commercial real estate, mortgage lending, business banking, insurance, financial planning, or small business ownership are strongly preferred. Experience serving business owners in any professional services capacity is highly relevant. No real estate or securities license is required to apply. Any applicable licensing requirements will be explained during the interview process and supported by the company.
