  • Full-time Title of position: Real Estate Appraisal & Data Specialist Reports to: Auditor Work Hours 7:30 a.
m. to 4:00 p.m.
Location:
Courthouse (On-site & Field Based) Position Summary The Real Estate Appraisal and Data Specialist is responsible for performing on-site inspections of residential and commercial properties and ensuring that all gathered information is accurately entered into the county's Computer-Assisted Mass Appraisal (CAMA) system. This dual-role requires physical field work and highly accurate data entry to maintain the integrity of property tax records.
Key Responsibilities Field Inspections:
Visit individual properties to measure structures, photograph interiors/exteriors, and verify physical characteristics such as room counts, condition, and special features.
Data Entry & Management:
Input and update property characteristics, square footage, and dimensions into the CAMA system.
Document Processing:
Prepare and enter real estate transfers, check property deeds for accuracy, and process conveyance forms.
Public Interaction:
Handle inquiries from the general public, realtors, and attorneys regarding property valuations and tax assessments.
Tax Calculation Support:
Assist in calculating taxes, preparing tax bills, and processing Current Agricultural Use Valuations (CAUV).
Qualifications & Skills Technical Skills:
Proficiency in data entry with high speed and accuracy; familiarity with Microsoft Office 365 and specialized appraisal software.
Knowledge:
Basic understanding of real estate law, property valuation methodologies, and Ohio property tax systems.
Education/Experience:
High school diploma required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in finance or business and/or experience in real estate appraisal preferred.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to conduct field inspections in various weather conditions, including walking on uneven terrain and measuring structures.
Pay:
$45,760.00
