Job Overview - Investment Associate (Real Estate)
Compensation:
$130,000 - $160,000/year + bonus
Location:
Bergen County, NJ Schedule:
Monday to Friday (Hybrid) Atlantic Group is hiring an Investment Associate (Real Estate) in Bergen County, NJ for our client, supporting acquisitions, asset management, development, and capital markets activities across a growing commercial real estate portfolio. This role offers broad exposure across the full investment lifecycle and will partner closely with senior investment professionals to evaluate opportunities, execute transactions, and support portfolio performance. The ideal candidate will bring strong financial modeling skills, commercial real estate experience, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment. Responsibilities as the Investment Associate (Real Estate):
Investment Underwriting:
Analyze real estate investment opportunities through detailed financial modeling and investment analysis.
Financial Modeling:
Build, maintain, and enhance complex real estate financial models to support investment decisions, forecasting, and portfolio management.
Transaction Execution:
Support due diligence efforts, coordinate transaction processes, and assist with negotiations through closing.
Capital Markets:
Assist with debt and equity financing activities, including financing activities, lender communications, and capital structure analysis.
Market Research:
Conduct market analysis, competitive research, demographic studies, and industry evaluations to identify investment opportunities.
Investment Reporting:
Prepare investment memoranda, presentations, and reports for senior leadership and key stakeholders. Qualifications for the Investment Associate (Real Estate):
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Real Estate, Economics, Accounting, or a related field is required.
Experience:
3-6 years of experience in real estate acquisitions, investment banking, private equity, underwriting, valuation advisory, or principal investing is required.
Industry Knowledge:
Strong understanding of commercial real estate finance, acquisitions, asset management, and investment analysis is required.
Technical Skills:
Advanced Excel modeling skills with the ability to build financial models from scratch are required. Experience with Argus and other real estate investment analysis tools is preferred.
Skills & Attributes:
Strong analytical, presentation, communication, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and collaborate effectively in a fast-paced environment are required.
