About VeriCasa VeriCasa is building AI infrastructure for real estate transactions. Our platform helps brokers, banks, title and escrow teams, and real estate operators automate document review, KYC/KYB, legal checks, contract generation, and compliance workflows. We are exploring our first U.S. wedge, starting with California real estate closings, title, escrow, and compliance workflows. Ths Project The intern will own a focused U.S. expansion research and market discovery project:
California Closing Compliance Copilot:
Bay Area Pilot Pack . The goal is to map the California residential closing process, identify manual and compliance-heavy workflows, speak with market operators, and help VeriCasa define a practical U.S. product wedge for AI-powered real estate transaction compliance. This is not a generic research internship. The work will contribute to VeriCasa's U.S. market research, product discovery, and pilot preparation.
Responsibilities :
You will: Map the California residential real estate closing workflow from accepted offer to recording. Identify the key documents, parties, risks, and compliance steps involved in title and escrow. Research pain points around document collection, identity verification, entity and trust buyers, seller disclosures, FIRPTA, California withholding, escrow instructions, title reports, notarization, and recording. Conduct customer discovery with escrow officers, title representatives, brokers, transaction coordinators, mortgage professionals, and proptech operators. Build a structured U.S. compliance checklist and product requirements brief. Create a target list of 100 Bay Area title, escrow, brokerage, mortgage, and proptech companies or operators. Support outreach efforts aimed at generating qualified pilot conversations. Present findings directly to the VeriCasa founders. Ideal Candidate You may be a strong fit if you are: If you do not use an LLM / Claude Code / Codex or similar, this is not for you. You need to be an autonomous and independent thinker Based in San Francisco or the Bay Area. Interested in startups, AI, legaltech, proptech, fintech, real estate, or compliance. Comfortable doing structured research and professional outreach. Strong at writing, synthesis, and turning messy information into clear frameworks. Able to communicate clearly with industry professionals. Entrepreneurial, practical, and comfortable working with limited supervision. Detail-oriented and reliable. Legal, business, real estate, public policy, computer science, or economics backgrounds are all welcome. Prior real estate experience is helpful but not required.
Deliverables:
By the end of the internship, the goal is to produce: A California residential closing workflow map. A compliance and risk checklist for California closings. A structured product brief for VeriCasa's
U.S. MVP.
Notes from customer discovery conversations. A target list of 100 relevant Bay Area companies and operators. A summary of potential pilot opportunities. A final presentation to the VeriCasa founders.
