Position Overview Rivers Rental & Equipment is seeking a Seasonal Full-Time Rental & Equipment Counter Associate to join our team. This position serves as one of the primary customer contacts for equipment rentals, equipment sales support, and customer service operations. The ideal candidate enjoys working with people, solving problems, and helping customers find the right equipment and solutions for their projects. While mechanical aptitude is helpful, we are willing to train the right individual who demonstrates strong customer service skills, reliability, and a willingness to learn. This position works closely with our Equipment & Parts Sales Specialist and supports daily rental operations, customer service, equipment preparation, and store operations.
This is a full-time seasonal position that includes weekday and Saturday shifts. What You'll Do Customer Service & Sales Support Greet and assist customers in person and by phone. Help customers identify rental equipment, products, and solutions that meet their needs. Answer customer questions regarding equipment capabilities, rental policies, pricing, and availability. Process customer transactions accurately and efficiently. Support equipment sales and rental opportunities through exceptional customer service. Follow up on customer inquiries and rental reservations as needed. Resolve customer concerns professionally and promptly. Rental Operations Assist customers with rental reservations, scheduling, and equipment selection. Prepare rental agreements and explain rental policies and procedures. Coordinate equipment pickup, delivery, and return activities. Inspect rental equipment before and after rental transactions. Ensure equipment is clean, organized, and ready for customer use. Provide customers with basic operating instructions and safety information. Maintain accurate rental records and documentation. Store Operations Assist with receiving, stocking, and organizing merchandise and equipment. Maintain a clean, safe, and professional showroom, rental yard, and customer service area. Support inventory organization and general operational activities. Assist with merchandising and display maintenance. Follow company safety procedures and operational standards. Qualifications Required High school diploma or equivalent. Strong customer service and communication skills. Positive attitude and willingness to learn. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Basic computer and technology skills. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation. Valid driver's license, chauffeur license, or the ability to obtain one within a specified period of employment is highly preferred. Preferred Retail, customer service, rental, or sales experience. Experience working in hardware, equipment, automotive, agricultural, construction, landscaping, or related industries. Mechanical aptitude or interest in learning about equipment.
