STATUS:
Non-Exempt/ Hourly PT, FT, Temp Mission Contribution:
Providing funding for our mission services operation.
Function:
Prices, sorts, hangs, displays, and sells donated items.
Essential Functions:
1. Ensures World Class donor and customer service, greeting customers within 10 seconds and providing friendly service and information. 2. Price sellable items and separate unsellable items. 3. Clean items as necessary before taking to the sales floor. 4. Goal is to sort or hang 160 pieces per hour or 1200 pieces in an 8 hour shift. 5. Ensures a clean and empty work station at the end of each shift 6. Hangs apparel on the sales floor. 7. Displays priced merchandise. 8. Rotates items off the sales floor. 9. Maintains the image of the sales floor and assists in store housekeeping including daily cleaning of the floor, fixtures, and restrooms. 10. Checks and cleans dressing rooms. 11. Assists the donation attendant with unloading donations and sorting donations into designated equipment when needed. 12. Assists with loading large purchases for customers when needed. 13. Maintains adherence to all company policies and procedures. 14. Other duties as assigned. Skills, knowledge and abilities: (these are required to enable job holder to perform the essential functions of the job). 1. Must be able to interact cordially and productively with a variety of people. 2. Must be able to market Goodwill and explain the mission to the general public. 3. Must be able to take initiative and work well with little supervision. 4. Must be able to work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends.
Experience and Education Requirements:
High School diploma or GED preferred, but not required. Prior work experience in the service industry preferred.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to engage in frequent bending, stretching, stooping, and prolonged standing, walking and twisting. Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 25 lbs. frequently and 75 lbs. with assistance occasionally. Ability to push equipment on wheels weighing 50 lbs. to 150 lbs. Ability to use fingers, hands and wrists, repetitively, while hanging and sorting clothes and merchandise.
Working Conditions:
Frequent physical exertion; exposure to unfit donated goods.
