Job Description
Overview We are seeking a part-time dedicated and enthusiastic Thrift Store Associate to join our team. In this role, you will play a vital part in providing excellent customer service while assisting with the daily operations of our thrift store. You will engage with customers, manage inventory, and contribute to a positive shopping experience. If you have a passion for retail and enjoy working in a dynamic environment, we would love to hear from you. Responsibilities Greet customers warmly and assist them with their shopping needs. Operate the cash register and handle transactions accurately using POS systems. Stock shelves and maintain organized displays to ensure an appealing shopping environment. Assist in product demonstrations and provide information about various items available for sale. Supervise volunteers as needed to ensure smooth store operations. Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the store, including backroom areas. Process donations, including sorting, lifting, and preparing items for sale, ensuring quality standards are met. Engage with customers to promote sales and enhance their shopping experience. Follow safety procedures when handling merchandise, including using proper lifting techniques. Must be willing to work every other Saturday. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during shifts. Frequent bending, stooping, reaching, and twisting. Ability to lift and carry up to 2 0 pounds regularly. Comfortable climbing and working from ladders to stock and retrieve merchandise. Ability to move and organize inventory in the backroom and sales floor. Qualifications Previous experience in retail sales or grocery store environments is preferred. Familiarity with cash registers and POS systems is highly desirable. Basic math skills for handling transactions and inventory management. Bilingual abilities are a plus, but not required. Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on customer service excellence. Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment. Must be willing to work every other Saturday.
