Basic Job Functions:
The Refractory Lead is responsible for coordinating refractory activities across all aspects of the Nucor Steel Kingman operation. Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to, working with other melt shop processes with an emphasis on communication, cost reduction, and reliability of refractory components; bricking EAF, ladles, tundish, and all other ancillary refractory components.
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Melt Shop Experience
- Technical knowledge and experience working with refractory components.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule, unscheduled overtime, rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays as scheduled.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Demonstrated leadership experience.
- Prior experience working with suppliers and inventory.
