Book Soup Bookseller

A unique opportunity to work at legendary independent bookstore, Book Soup! Located on the world-famous Sunset Strip in West Hollywood, California. Founded by Glenn Goldman as "Bookseller to the Great and Infamous," the store has been serving readers, writers, artists, rock 'n' rollers, and celebrities since 1975. Book Soup is currently seeking two part-time booksellers to work approximately 25 hours per week. Flexible availability is required, including nights, weekends, and holidays, with occasional additional hours as needed.

Responsibilities include:

Work flexible opening/closing shifts, weekends and holidays will be required. Climb ladders and lift boxes while stocking assigned book sections and shelving books throughout the store Shelving books throughout the store Inventory book sections Handselling books and non-book merchandise Prepare in store pick up orders and take special orders for books not in stock. Answer customer inquiry calls Book returns per store reports Register trained to ring in-store customers and phone/internet orders Processing internet orders Work daily assigned tasks including store maintenance, and displays Other duties as assigned The ideal candidate is engaging, approachable, positive, and hardworking—someone who is detail-oriented, self-motivated, sales-driven, and passionate about delivering excellent customer service while making Book Soup the highlight of each customer's day.
