Overview Join our vibrant pet retail team as a Pet Store Sales Associate and become a vital part of enhancing the lives of pets and their owners! Duties Greet customers warmly, listen attentively to their needs, and offer expert advice on pet products, nutrition, and care options Assist customers with pet selection, including understanding specific needs for dogs, cats, and other small animals Handle animal care responsibilities such as dog handling, animal restraint, grooming, and basic pet sitting tasks Provide guidance on dog training techniques and share veterinary experience insights to support responsible pet ownership Maintain cleanliness and organization of the store's animal care areas, including kennels and grooming stations Perform heavy lifting when stocking shelves or moving supplies to ensure the store remains well-stocked and inviting Educate customers on pet health, grooming tips, and proper animal handling techniques to promote safe interactions Requirements Passion for animals with prior experience in pet care or animal handling preferred Knowledge of dog training, veterinary technician experience, or veterinary assistant background is highly desirable Ability to perform pet grooming, pet sitting, and kennel duties confidently Strong customer service skills with a friendly, approachable demeanor Capable of handling animals safely using proper restraint techniques Willingness to perform heavy lifting and physical tasks regularly throughout shifts Previous experience in veterinary settings or animal rescue organizations is a plus but not required Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds in weight.
