Job Description
Overview We are seeking a dedicated Retail Store Clerk to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be the frontline representative of our store, responsible for providing exceptional customer service, managing sales transactions, and maintaining an organized shopping environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, a proactive attitude, and a passion for retail operations. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop retail expertise while contributing to a positive shopping experience for our customers. Responsibilities Greet customers warmly and assist them with their shopping needs in a courteous and professional manner Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system efficiently to process sales transactions accurately Handle cash, credit, and debit payments with proper cash handling procedures and phone etiquette Conduct product demonstrations and upselling to enhance customer satisfaction and increase sales Maintain store merchandising standards by organizing displays and stocking shelves regularly Manage inventory levels through stocking, merchandising, and reporting low stock items Assist customers with product inquiries, provide information about store promotions, and promote new products Support supervising staff in daily operations and ensure compliance with store policies Perform basic math calculations for transactions, discounts, and pricing adjustments Ensure the cleanliness and safety of the store environment at all times Qualifications Previous experience in retail sales or grocery store environments is preferred Familiarity with POS systems, cash handling, and retail math principles Strong communication skills in both verbal and written forms; bilingual abilities are a plus Demonstrated supervising experience or leadership qualities in retail settings Ability to perform basic math calculations accurately and efficiently Excellent customer service skills with a friendly and professional demeanor Knowledge of merchandising techniques and stock management practices Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment Basic understanding of phone etiquette and professional communication standards
