Our tasting room team is growing! As a Wine Educator, you will ensure each guest is warmly greeted and seated for their chosen tasting experience. You will pour and explain our wine and unique history in the region, serve and support in the dining room, and work closely with our chef team to create an amazing experience for all visitors. This full-time role requires a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays, and the ability to work evening shifts as needed. Tasting Room wine salesTasting Room food sales, executing an elevated food and wine experience Wine Insider sign-up goalsPerform monitoring and stocking duties as assignedMaintain a clean and organized work environment, including:
Tasting Room
- ensure all bar areas are free of unnecessary POS materials, flyers, etc.
Dining Area
- keep the space clean, stocked, and ready for servicePatios
- ensure common areas and office spaces are tidy and well-organizedWine Storage
- monitor inventory levels and notify a supervisor or manager of any shortagesAddress guest concerns and complaints using good judgment and tact.
Elevate complaints to management when necessaryAt the end of shift/service, complete the following:
Process all guest checksAllocate pooled gratuities to the Gratuity ReportClean and reset the dining roomComplete all closing side workContinuously educate yourself on new Lewis wine releases, as well as viticulture and winemaking techniqueAttend all monthly and weekly Tasting Room meetingsQualificationsPrevious experience in a restaurant or hospitality environment is preferred but not required2 years of retail sales experience preferredMust possess a passion for wine and the wine industryAvailability to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and evening shiftsA thorough understanding of wine and food pairings, including origins, preparation/production methods, and the ability to explain why certain wines pair well with set food itemsExcellent communication skills and ability to relate to people at all levelsWillingness to learn and work in a fast-paced environmentAbility to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a teamStrong organizational and time management skillsHigh school diploma or equivalent is a plus
Pay Range:
$25.00
00 an hour, and will be included in the tip pool. Final compensation will be dependent upon skills and experience.
