You will be guiding customers through our apothecary offerings, maintaining a beautifully organized store, fulfilling online orders, and helping grow our digital presence. Key Responsibilities Retail & Customer Experience Greet and engage customers with warmth, confidence, and deep product knowledge Make personalized herb and wellness product recommendations based on customer needs Communicate fluently in the language of herbs, plant medicine, and holistic health Drive sales through authentic, consultative selling — always informed Maintain a welcoming, clean, and beautifully curated retail environment Inventory & Store Operations Operate the POS system accurately for sales, returns, and exchanges Monitor and manage inventory levels, performing regular stock counts Create and submit purchase orders to maintain optimal product availability Apply and enforce FIFO (First In, First Out) inventory rotation consistently Track product expiration dates and remove or flag items as needed Receive shipments, check accuracy, and organize stock according to store systems Perform basic data entry to keep inventory records current and accurate Open and/or close the store independently when required Customer Service Deliver exceptional, attentive customer service that makes every visitor feel seen and supported Handle customer questions, concerns, and complaints with patience, professionalism, and grace Resolve in-store issues calmly and effectively, escalating to management when appropriate Follow up on customer experiences and help build long-term loyalty to the brand Maintain a welcoming atmosphere — every interaction should feel like a ritual in itself Weighing, Measuring & Math Use a gram scale accurately to measure and portion bulk herbs, botanicals, and loose products Apply basic math for weighing orders, calculating pricing per gram/ounce, and verifying quantities Ensure precision and consistency when fulfilling custom or bulk herb requests Perform light cash-handling math including making change and reconciling drawer totals Online Orders & Fulfillment Pick, pack, and ship online orders accurately and in a timely manner Maintain fulfillment standards for packaging quality and presentation Update order statuses and communicate with customers regarding their shipments Coordinate with management on stock availability for online listings Social Media & Light Marketing Assist with day-to-day social media activity, primarily Instagram Create short-form videos, reels, or stories featuring products, rituals, and the store vibe . Update product listings, announcements, and promotions across digital channels Help brainstorm and execute content ideas that reflect the brand's identity Qualifications Required Genuine knowledge of herbs, botanicals, and holistic/natural wellness practices Comfortable using the vocabulary of herbalism and plant medicine with customers Prior retail or customer-facing sales experience Experience with a POS system and basic retail operations Understanding of inventory management principles, including FIFO and expiration tracking Strong interpersonal skills — outgoing, approachable, and socially confident Ability to work independently and take initiative without constant supervision Comfortable appearing on camera and contributing to social media content is a plus, Basic proficiency with Instagram and short-form video content Reliable, organized, and detail-oriented Legal & Compliant Herb/Supplement Communication Understand and consistently apply FDA-compliant language when discussing herbs and supplements Use structure/function claim language appropriately (e.g., 'this herb is traditionally used to support...' rather than 'this treats or cures...') Avoid making any diagnostic, treatment, or cure claims about products — ever Redirect customers to healthcare professionals when questions go beyond the scope of retail guidance Distinguish between sharing traditional/historical herb use and making medical claims Understand the difference between a health claim and a general wellness suggestion Stay current on best practices for supplement retail compliance and responsible recommendation Preferred (Nice to Have) Formal or self-directed study in herbalism, aromatherapy, Ayurveda, or related field Experience with e-commerce order fulfillment (Shopify, Etsy, etc.) Background in holistic health, naturopathy, or wellness retail Experience creating social media content for a brand or small business Familiarity with inventory management software What We Offer $18-$20/hour starting pay, commensurate with experience An immersive, herb-filled work environment rooted in ritual and intention A supportive small-business culture that values your voice and expertise Employee discount on all apothecary products Opportunity to grow with us as the brand expands How to Apply We'd love to meet you.
