Thursdays, 4:30 PM - 10:30 PM (hours may vary)
Pay:
Starting at $17.50 per hour Join the Sunset Market Team! The Oceanside Sunset Market is seeking friendly, dependable, and safety-focused individuals to serve as Street Marshals. This role is essential in helping create a safe, welcoming, and enjoyable experience for thousands of visitors, vendors, and community members who attend the market each week. As a Street Marshal, you will be the eyes and ears of the event, assisting with crowd management, vendor support, safety monitoring, and guest services throughout the market. Essential Responsibilities Patrol assigned areas of the Sunset Market during event hours Assist with pedestrian flow and crowd management Monitor vendor spaces and report concerns to supervisors Provide directions and information to guests and vendors Help maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment Observe and report safety hazards, suspicious activity, or emergencies Assist with event setup and breakdown as needed Communicate effectively with team members, staff, vendors, and public safety personnel Qualifications Must be at least 18 years of age Strong customer service and communication skills Ability to remain professional and calm in a busy public environment Comfortable standing and walking for extended periods Reliable transportation and consistent attendance Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions Previous event, security, customer service, hospitality, or volunteer experience is a plus but not required What We Offer Starting pay of $17.50 per hour Weekly part-time schedule Opportunity to work at one of Oceanside's most popular community events Positive team environment Valuable experience in event operations and community engagement If you enjoy interacting with people, take pride in helping others, and want to be part of a dynamic community event, we'd love to hear from you.
