Front Counter Cashier & Guest Experience OHLALA | Pasadena, CA Inspired by the sun-drenched French Riviera, OHLALA is a vibrant brunch restaurant, bakery, and café serving specialty coffee, fresh pastries, breakfast, brunch, lunch, and a curated selection of French wines. We are a fast-paced, community-driven business built around hospitality, quality, and genuine human connection. We are looking for a Front Counter Cashier & Guest Experience team member who enjoys interacting with people, thrives in a busy environment, and takes pride in creating a welcoming first impression for every guest who walks through our doors. Compensation $18.04/hour + tips Part-time and full-time opportunities available Schedule Weekend availability is required Morning and daytime shifts only No evening availability required Additional weekday shifts available based on business needs Responsibilities Greet guests warmly and provide exceptional hospitality Take accurate food and beverage orders through our POS system Answer guest questions regarding menu items, pastries, coffee, matcha, wine, ingredients, and allergens Communicate special requests and modifications accurately to the kitchen and bar teams Package and organize takeout orders with attention to detail Set up, stock, maintain, and break down the pastry display case Retrieve and warm pastries for guests and servers Restock paper goods, takeout supplies, disposable utensils, bags, and retail displays Maintain cleanliness and organization of the front counter, pastry area, storage spaces, counters, and floors Assist with opening, closing, and daily side work Prioritize tasks effectively while managing multiple responsibilities at once Requirements Previous cashier, café, restaurant, or hospitality experience preferred Food Handler Card required Strong communication and customer service skills Ability to learn and retain detailed knowledge of our food, beverage, pastry, and wine offerings Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment Ability to stand for extended periods of time Ability to safely lift and carry up to 40 lbs Must meet all legal age requirements necessary to perform job duties Who You Are Friendly, welcoming, and genuinely enjoys interacting with guests Able to build rapport with regulars and create memorable guest experiences Organized and detail-oriented Calm under pressure Reliable and punctual Able to multitask without sacrificing accuracy Takes pride in maintaining a clean and professional workspace Enjoys being part of a collaborative team Understands that hospitality is about making people feel seen, welcomed, and cared for About
