Retail Cannabis Dispensary Lead Cannavine - 1.0 San Francisco, CA Job Details Full-time $23 - $26 an hour 13 hours ago Qualifications Hospitality Retail customer service procedures Customer communication Cash amount verification Teamwork Slack De-escalation techniques Conflict de-escalation Dispatching Team development Cash register operations POS systems Retail management Full Job Description The Shift Lead is a floor-based leadership role responsible for coordinating Front of House (FOH) and Back of House (BOH) operations and ensuring the smooth, compliant flow of the store each shift. Leading by example in hospitality, customer experience, and accurate cash handling, the Shift Lead supports and guides FOH/BOH staff while working closely with management. This full-time role requires flexibility in scheduling, tasking, and coverage to meet business needs.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: Opening & Closing Open and close the facility, ensuring the store is armed and all doors and safes are secured.
Manage registers:
cash replenishment, drawer exchanges, cash drops, and audits; assist with cash reconciliation. Open and close delivery equipment per checklists; close delivery drawers and upload reports to the correct folder. Maintain daily Google Sheets and provide end-of-day reporting to management at close. Team Coordination Coordinate breaks and lunches per the General Manager's direction and California labor law. Oversee all FOH/BOH personnel—Sales, Security, Delivery, and Ecommerce Associates. Provide performance notes, report callouts, and proactively solve staffing coverage. Escalate policy violations to the GM and assist with incident reports as needed. Oversee facility cleanliness, communicate replenishment needs, and follow tasks through to resolution. Coordinate and participate in onboarding, training, and employee development. Customer Experience Set the service standard through personal interactions and sales; ensure the team delivers excellent service. Oversee Cannavine redemptions and returns; assist with transactions and online order fulfillment. Lead de-escalation of customer issues and route concerns to the help desk and management. Recommend customer experience improvements and coordinate all order types (walk-in, delivery, prepaid eCommerce). Inventory Coordination Perform software inventory movements (excluding quarantine) and product counts to keep sales-floor counts accurate. Participate in end-of-month (EOM) reconciliation; process returns/exchanges with corresponding system movements. Report product issues to the appropriate Slack channel(s) with the State Tracking ID. METRC/POS
Software intake and assisting with processing, sub-batching, adjustments, and quarantine movements. Ecommerce & Delivery Monitor the fulfillment dashboard from "verification pending" through "Packed & Ready." Assign, dispatch, and track delivery orders in POS Software and Dispatch; ensure drivers receive correct orders. Pull, build, and bin orders accurately; manage driver flow and report service or driver incidents. Coordinate the nightly delivery close with eCommerce Associates and update the site; maintain driver equipment inventory. Oversee relevant Slack channels and reassign eCommerce staff to budtender or intake roles as needed. Perform other duties as assigned by management.
KEY REQUIREMENTS
Must be at least 21 years of age and willing to pass a background check. One or more years of retail and cash-handling experience; leadership or supervisory experience a plus. Excellent customer service with the ability to de-escalate issues professionally. Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Comfortable learning retail/delivery software (training provided); experience with Treez, Stronghold, Cannveya, Zendesk, Alpine, or Weedmaps Dispatch a plus. Cannabis industry knowledge and familiarity loyalty programs preferred. Full-time availability with a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed. Demonstrated commitment to teamwork, reliability, and a positive, customer-focused attitude.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout a shift. Ability to lift and carry up to 25-50 lbs, with or without reasonable accommodation. Ability to perform repetitive motions for register operation, order building, and stocking.
Pay:
$23.00 - $26.00 per hour
