In person About Us We're a busy, creative screen printing, embroidery, and DTF transfer company in San Luis Obispo making custom merchandise for brands, schools, athletic teams, businesses, and organizations of all kinds. We take pride in quality work, clear communication, and helping customers bring their ideas to life. We're looking for a friendly, detail-oriented person to join our team as a Print Shop Design & Customer Support Assistant . This role is more technical than artistic. The right person does not need to be a highly creative designer, but they do need to be comfortable, capable, and efficient on a computer — especially in Adobe Illustrator. This is a great opportunity for someone with strong computer and design software skills who wants hands-on experience in a real production shop.
What You'll Do:
Artwork & Production File Setup A major part of this job will be preparing customer artwork and setting up files for production. You'll work on real jobs for screen printing, embroidery, and DTF/FTG printing.
Responsibilities may include:
Set up and prepare print-ready files using Adobe Illustrator Clean up customer-supplied artwork so it is usable for production Adjust, organize, and prepare files for screen printing jobs Prepare files for embroidery jobs and coordinate details needed for production Prepare files for DTF/FTG jobs Create and send customer proofs Make revisions based on customer feedback Keep digital job files organized and easy to find Follow shop processes so artwork, proofs, and production details are accurate Pay close attention to spelling, placement, sizing, colors, and order details We can teach the right person our process, but we are looking for someone who is already comfortable using a computer and can become proficient in our workflow quickly. Customer Communication & Shop Support This is not a position where someone can put on headphones and check out. You'll have your own workspace, but you'll still be part of a small, active shop where people need to stay aware of what is happening throughout the day.
Responsibilities may include:
Communicate with customers in person, over the phone, and by email Help customers with basic questions about orders, products, timelines, and artwork Collect order details clearly and pass information along to the right team members Help keep customers updated on their orders Assist with pickups, payments, and invoices when needed Support the front office and showroom as needed Jump in where needed throughout the day as part of a small team What We're Looking For We're looking for someone who is: Friendly, personable, and comfortable communicating with customers Detail-oriented and organized Strong on the computer Proficient with Adobe Illustrator Able to manage multiple tasks throughout the day Comfortable working in a busy production shop environment Reliable, professional, and willing to learn Able to stay engaged and aware of what is happening in the shop Willing to wear multiple hats as part of a small business This role requires both technical computer skills and good people skills. You'll need to be able to focus on detailed file setup while also being approachable and helpful when customers or coworkers need you.
