In addition to machining responsibilities, that machine shop lead will provide leadership, mentoring, and hands-on training to lower-level machinists. Play a key role in cross-training, troubleshooting, and supporting area leadership
Job Responsibilities:
Responsible for all facets of production including set-up to FA acceptance Performs and maintains accurate in process quality inspections Provide cross-training flexibility across all machining platforms and departments. Independently troubleshoot machining problems and assist other machinists as needed. Must be proficient across a broad range of equipment and can independently manufacture and validate complex tooling. Design, manufacture, and validate tooling for production needs. Lead process improvement efforts within the area. Mentor and train lower-level machinists, supporting their development and growth. Act as a subject matter expert and area lead when necessary. Additional duties may be assigned at the discretion of management to meet operational needs.
Requirements:
Advanced experience across multiple CNC and conventional machining platforms. Expert knowledge of tooling, setup, program validation, and machine recovery. Demonstrated leadership and mentoring capabilities. Strong problem-solving skills applied to a wide range of production challenges. Intermediate knowledge of CAD/CAM software. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Must be able to read and interpret blue prints, specifications and shop aid sketches Ability to handle complex situations and solve complex problems Ability to work effectively under pressure to meet deadlines Ability to press and analyze technical and business information Ability to work in a team environment with strong communication skills (verbal and written) Professionalism, integrity, and exceptional attention to detail Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills Must be detail oriented, organized, and self-motivated
Qualifications:
5+ years of experience in a machining role. 2+ years in leadership role Experience with Haas and Fadal controls Intermediate knowledge of CAD/CAM software. Proven success in mentoring, training, or leading others on the shop floor.

Incumbents must perform work in an efficient, effective, and timely manner with minimal direction.

Incumbents are required to participate in assigned physical activities which may include light lifting and standing for prolonged periods of time.
Vision :
Vision sufficient to read printed documents, computer screens, and observe behavior of others.
Environment:
Typical manufacturing shop floor conditions, directly working with Manufacturing management team and external customers.
Other Factors:
Typical hours worked are Monday - Friday from 6:00 a.m. - 03:00 p.m. Incumbents are currently required to work occasional extended hours and weekend overtime, as applicable by law. Frequently required to use hands or fingers, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls. Often required; reach with hands and arms; and stoop. Occasionally required to; climb or balance; kneel, crouch, or crawl. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high.
