Welcome Center Assistant

The Ventura Botanical Gardens is seeking a qualified self-starting individual for this part-time paid position. The Welcome Center Associate has the following responsibilities: Visitor Experience Open and close the Welcome Center facility and garden access gates 2.5 days per week including weekends. Recruit, train, schedule, and manage volunteer Welcome Center Hosts. Maintain a clean, safe, and pleasant environment in the Welcome Center. Greet visitors and provide timely and accurate information for guests and Hosts. Process entry fees, membership sign-ups, and donations. Assist with education and other events taking place in the Welcome Center and gardens. Gift Shop Management Purchase, price, display, and maintain gift shop sales item inventory. Maintain point of sale system. Assist shoppers with purchases as needed. Administration Ensure accurate cash handling procedures. Develop appropriate processes and procedures. Coordinate Welcome Center and gift shop activities with Welcome Center Manager and other VBG staff and volunteers. Provide complete, accurate, and timely reports Order and stock Welcome Center, gift shop, volunteer and membership supplies.
