Job Overview We are seeking a friendly and detail-oriented Liquor Store Clerk to join our retail team. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional customer service, manage sales transactions efficiently, and maintain an organized store environment. This role offers an opportunity to develop retail sales skills in a fast-paced setting, ensuring customers have a positive shopping experience. Bilingual abilities and prior retail or grocery store experience are considered advantageous. Duties Operate POS systems accurately for sales transactions, including cash handling and credit card processing Assist customers with product inquiries, recommend items, and promote upselling opportunities Stock shelves, merchandise products attractively, and ensure proper product placement Conduct product demos when applicable to enhance customer engagement Maintain store cleanliness and organization by stocking shelves and managing inventory levels Enforce age restrictions and verify identification for alcohol sales in compliance with legal requirements Provide excellent customer service through friendly communication and attentive assistance Manage phone inquiries professionally, providing information about store hours, products, or promotions Supervise or assist in supervising staff during shifts if applicable, ensuring smooth store operations Requirements Previous experience with POS systems, cashiering, or retail sales is preferred Strong communication skills and excellent phone etiquette Ability to perform basic math calculations for transactions and inventory management Knowledge of merchandising, stocking procedures, and retail math principles Supervising experience is a plus but not mandatory; leadership qualities are valued Bilingual abilities are advantageous for serving diverse customers effectively Customer service-oriented attitude with a professional appearance and demeanor Familiarity with grocery store operations or alcohol retail regulations is beneficial Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and evenings as needed This position offers an engaging work environment where attention to detail and customer satisfaction are prioritized.
