Department:
Thrift Store Reports to: Thrift Store Warehouse Manager Position type: Part time (16 - 32hrs/wk) Pay range: $16 - $19
Position Summary:
The purpose of the La Plata County Thrift Store is to help provide financial support to the animal shelter by processing and selling donated goods. The primary duties of a Dock Associate is to receive/collect, sort, run deliveries, and maintain waste output.
Duties and Responsibilities:
: Assist donors by accepting donations at the "dock" and offering donors a "receipt". Sort donations into appropriate bins (first sort) and transfer to the warehouse. Properly dispose of donated items that are not appropriate for resale. : Deliver/pick up items as directed by manager ensuring that all safety guidelines are followed. : Greet customers and assist shoppers and donors as needed. Use a customer service approach when responding to customer questions, comments, or complaints. Maintain a cheerful, welcoming, and supportive attitude toward all customers, staff, volunteers, and donors. Represent LPCHS in a friendly, courteous, and professional manner. Share the mission of LPCHS with customers or the general public in an informed and enthusiastic manner. : Ability to work with a variety of people in a busy work environment. Work collaboratively with staff in the Thrift Store and Shelter and demonstrate flexibility in assisting other departments when necessary. Remain in compliance with LPCHS dress code and hygiene standards. : Ensure the cleanliness and presentability of the dock, dumpsters, and perimeter of the Warehouse is maintained at all times. Participates in closing tasks. Receive direction and independently execute tasks with minimum supervision. Report for work at scheduled time, ready to perform work functions, and remain on task while completing the entire scheduled shift. Follow all safety procedures.
Skills and Qualifications:
Must be able to lift and carry items weighing 50 - 75 pounds (using proper team lifting techniques) Must have a valid drivers license. Must be able to sustain hours of standing, walking, lifting, and bending Comfortable working with cats and dogs
Pay:
$16.00 - $19.00 per hour
