Full Job Description Overview:

We are seeking a motivated and customer-oriented Retail Sales Associate to join our team. In this dynamic role, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, assisting with product recommendations, and ensuring a well-organized shopping environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills and a passion for retail sales, contributing to a positive shopping experience for our customers.

Duties:

• Greet customers warmly and assist them in locating products within the store.
• Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system efficiently for transactions.
• Handle cash and credit transactions accurately while maintaining cash handling protocols.
• Recommend products that fit the customers needs while also educating them about the benefits of said products with the goal to enhance customer understanding and satisfaction.
• Engage in upselling techniques to promote additional products or services.
• Maintain merchandising standards by organizing displays and stocking shelves effectively.
• Supervise junior staff members as needed, providing guidance on best practices in customer service and sales techniques.
• Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the sales floor and stockroom areas.
• Utilize basic math skills for retail math calculations related to pricing, discounts, and inventory management.
• Exhibit excellent phone etiquette when handling customer inquiries over the phone.

Skills:

• Proven experience in retail sales with a strong understanding of retail store operations.
• Familiarity with cash handling procedures and cashiering responsibilities.
• Ability to communicate effectively with customers and team members in English. Being bilingual is an added bonus.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Experience in supervising staff or leading teams is a plus.
• Proficient in product knowledge that engages customers and drives sales.
• Follow instructions, while also being open to constructive criticism.
• Adherence and accountability to a schedule once made.
• Excellent customer service skills that foster positive relationships with shoppers.
