We are seeking a highly creative and strategic merchandising professional to help elevate the customer experience, maximize sales through effective visual merchandising, and provide insight into emerging fashion trends. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who loves fashion, understands retail psychology, and wants the ability to influence the growth and direction of a boutique with significant room for advancement. Iron & Grace shares in the same building as A Florae flowers flower shop with the boutique in the front and the flower shop in the back. Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Retail Merchandising & Fashion Strategy Consultant to visit the boutique once a week and refresh the sales floor using proven merchandising principles, customer behavior insights, and current fashion trends. This individual will be responsible for creating compelling product displays, optimizing store flow, and helping guide purchasing decisions based on industry trends and market demand. The ideal candidate understands not only what looks beautiful but also what drives sales. Responsibilities Refresh and redesign store displays weekly to maximize customer engagement and product sell-through. Create visually compelling merchandising stories throughout the boutique. Analyze inventory placement and recommend adjustments to improve sales performance. Utilize retail merchandising best practices and consumer buying psychology. Stay current on national and Colorado-specific fashion trends. Provide recommendations on future inventory purchases and product categories. Identify opportunities to increase average transaction value through product placement and styling. Assist in creating seasonal merchandising plans. Train and provide guidance to boutique staff on maintaining visual standards between visits. Offer strategic insight regarding fashion direction, emerging trends, and customer demand. Qualifications Minimum 2 years of retail visual merchandising experience. Strong understanding of fashion trends, styling, and apparel merchandising. Knowledge of retail sales psychology and customer shopping behavior. Experience working within boutiques or specialty retail environments preferred. Ability to work independently and make confident merchandising decisions. Strong organizational and communication skills.
