Job Description
Overview Vernon Powell Shoes is seeking FT and PT Sales Associates to join our team! We carry high-quality fashion & performance footwear, work boots & workwear, apparel, jewelry, accessories, and more. In this role, you'll be the friendly face that welcomes customers, provides expert product guidance, and creates an engaging shopping experience. Your enthusiasm and communication skills will help customers find what they need, discover new products, and leave feeling satisfied and inspired. Whether managing sales transactions or merchandising displays, you'll play a vital role in driving store success and building lasting customer relationships. Responsibilities Greet customers warmly and provide exceptional customer service to enhance their shopping experience Assist customers with product selections, answer questions, and offer personalized recommendations Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems accurately for cash handling, credit card processing, and receipts Upsell additional products or accessories to maximize sales opportunities Maintain attractive merchandise displays through merchandising and stocking activities Manage inventory levels by restocking shelves and organizing stock areas efficiently Follow phone etiquette standards when answering inquiries or assisting customers remotely Support store operations by performing cashier duties with accuracy and attention to detail Engage in basic retail math for transactions, pricing, and discounts while ensuring cash handling accuracy Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth store operations and meet sales goals Qualifications Previous retail sales experience preferred but reliability & a great attitude matter most Familiarity with POS systems and cash handling procedures Strong communication skills and the ability to connect with diverse customers; bilingual abilities are advantageous Ability to stand for extended periods and lift merchandise as needed in retail environment Excellent phone etiquette for remote customer interactions Basic math skills for retail transactions, pricing calculations, and inventory management Demonstrated customer service skills with a positive attitude and proactive approach Join us to be part of a vibrant team dedicated to delivering outstanding shopping experiences!
