Retail Store Associate Big Dog Tackle - Pompano Beach, FL Position Summary Big Dog Tackle is looking for an enthusiastic, dependable, and customer-focused Retail Store Associate to join our team. This position is responsible for providing exceptional customer service, assisting anglers of all experience levels, maintaining an organized sales floor, and supporting the daily operations of the store. A passion for fishing and the outdoors is a major plus. Responsibilities Greet every customer in a friendly and professional manner. Assist customers in selecting fishing tackle, rods, reels, bait, apparel, and marine accessories. Answer questions and provide knowledgeable product recommendations. Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system accurately for sales, returns, and exchanges. Receive, unpack, price, and stock merchandise. Maintain clean, organized, and fully stocked sales displays. Assist with inventory counts, restocking, and merchandising. Spool fishing reels using the store's line spooling equipment (training provided). Help prepare online orders for pickup or shipping as needed. Keep the store clean, including sweeping, dusting, and organizing work areas. Assist with opening and closing procedures. Follow all company policies regarding safety, cash handling, and customer service. Work as a team to ensure customers have an outstanding shopping experience. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous retail or customer service experience preferred. Fishing knowledge is preferred but not required; willingness to learn is essential. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Basic computer and POS system skills. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Dependable with a positive attitude. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Ability to lift and carry up to 35 pounds. Ability to bend, reach, climb ladders, and stock merchandise. Comfortable working in a fast-paced retail environment. Schedule Part-time and full-time opportunities available. Weekend availability is required. Some holidays are required. Flexible scheduling based on business needs. Preferred Skills Knowledge of saltwater fishing equipment and techniques. Experience with fishing line, reels, rods, and tackle.
