Job Description

Position Overview:
Troy's Tropics is seeking a highly knowledgeable and motivated Wholesale Nursery Sales Associate with a strong background in Florida horticulture . This role requires someone who already possesses extensive plant knowledge specific to Florida's climate and growing conditions . If you're passionate about plants and confident in identifying and recommending the right material for wholesale customers, we want to hear from you.
Minimum Requirements:
3+ years of hands-on horticultural experience in Florida is required 2+ years of experience working in wholesale nursery sales Vast, working knowledge of Florida plant material — including sun/shade requirements, salt tolerance, bloom cycles, and seasonal availability Strong communication and customer service skills Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, outdoor nursery environment Comfortable using computers for order entry and basic inventory tasks
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as a primary point of contact for wholesale customers Assist and check out wholesale clients at the register Answer calls from wholesale clients, provide plant advice, and coordinate requests with the Wholesale Manager Offer expert plant recommendations tailored to job sites and customer needs Keep the wholesale register area organized and professional Work closely with the wholesale team to ensure accurate, timely order fulfillment
Preferred Qualifications:
Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus Familiarity with seasonal plant availability and Florida-friendly landscaping principles Experience with nursery POS and inventory systems Proficiency with Excel and Microsoft Office (preferred)
