ReStore Associate Imagine that all your hard work and the success of your store provides hope for others right here in our community! That is exactly what we do. As a ReStore Associate, you will support our mission of the Gwinnett/Walton by ensuring your customers get a positive experience through your friendly and helpful manner. You work in a world where you may juggle multiple roles at once but keeps a cool head. You are highly skilled at taking control of those challenges, ensuring that the ball doesn't drop and know when to ask for help. The ReStore Associate is directly responsible for: Interacting positively and professionally with donors, customers, volunteers, and team members at all times. Delivering a welcoming, memorable, and solution-oriented customer experience that supports strong sales, repeat visits, and Habitat's mission. Serving as a primary front-end ambassador for the ReStore, understanding that you are often the first and last impression a customer has of the organization. Operating the POS/register accurately and efficiently, including cash handling, credit transactions, discounts, returns, and adherence to all cash-handling and loss-prevention procedures. Maintaining awareness of daily sales goals, promotions, and pricing strategies, and actively supporting those efforts through strong customer engagement. Demonstrating an eye for merchandising by assisting with product presentation, floor resets, endcaps, and maintaining clean, organized, and visually appealing displays that drive sales. Assisting customers on the sales floor by answering questions, locating products, suggesting complementary items, and escalating issues appropriately to management. Working collaboratively with ReStore Specialists and Management to process donated goods and merchandise product to the sales floor in alignment with pricing and merchandising standards. Maintaining flexibility to work between the sales floor, front register, donation processing, and warehouse areas as business needs require. Cross-training in multiple areas, including front-end operations and back-of-house functions, to provide coverage and support during peak times. Communicating clearly with team members and leadership regarding pricing questions, customer concerns, service issues, and product quality. Maintaining strong product knowledge by taking a store tour each shift and staying informed on current inventory and featured items. Reviewing the workload board and calendar at the start of each shift to understand daily priorities and expectations. Maintaining a safe, clean, and organized workspace, ensuring safety standards and store procedures are followed at all times. Following all ReStore policies, procedures, and operational guidelines. Actively supporting the ReStore in meeting daily, monthly, and annual sales and operational goals. The position is part-time with an expected average work week of 20 hours. The ReStore is open Tuesdays through Saturdays. Saturday's are required. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age. Requirements Qualified Candidates must meet the following requirements: Education/Professional Credentials • Minimum High School Diploma or GED.. Experience Minimum of two years of customer service experience, preferably in a retail setting. Prior experience handling cash, operating registers, or working front-end retail strongly preferred. Skills Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, rapidly changing work environment and take on additional responsibilities as needed. Strong attention to detail, particularly in cash handling, pricing accuracy, and merchandising standards. Demonstrated sales awareness and customer-focused mindset. Experience using warehouse equipment a plus. Superior customer service and interpersonal skills. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, perform physical tasks, stand or walk for extended periods, and work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Proficient in operating POS systems and basic computer applications. Furniture assembly and/or electrical knowledge a plus. Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and basic internet research preferred. Bilingual skills a plus. Ability to interact respectfully and effectively with a diverse population of customers, donors, volunteers, and staff. Gwinnett/Walton Habitat is a Drug-Free Workplace.
