We are seeking a dedicated Pawn Specialist who values customer trust, pays meticulous attention to detail, and can help maintain our high standards of service.

Position Overview:

The Pawn Specialist will be responsible for working behind the counter, interacting with customers, and handling transactions with the utmost care and professionalism. This role requires an individual who excels in building trust, paying attention to the finer details, and ensuring every customer walks away feeling confident in their experience. Key Responsibilities:

Customer Interaction:

Greet customers with a warm and professional attitude, ensuring they feel valued and respected Build lasting relationships by fostering trust through clear communication and honesty Explain loan terms, interest rates, and repayment schedules in a transparent manner to ensure full understanding Handle sensitive customer interactions with discretion and professionalism, especially when dealing with valuable items Take the time to educate customers on the value of their items and the loan process, reinforcing the shop's reputation for trustworthiness

Pawn and Payment Transactions:

Conduct thorough evaluations of items such as jewelry, electronics, coins, precious metals, and firearms, ensuring accuracy in valuations with current market prices Negotiate fair and transparent deals with customers, always focusing on mutual trust and shop policies Meticulously document and track loan details to avoid errors and ensure smooth transactions Issue pawn loans and clearly communicate all terms and conditions to ensure customer satisfaction Handle payments for loans and sales with precision and accuracy, ensuring all details are correct Follow strict cash handling procedures and maintain accurate financial records for every transaction Balance the cash drawer at the end of each shift, ensuring no discrepancies and addressing any issues promptly

Inventory Management:

Carefully manage and store pawned items, ensuring they are properly labeled, securely handled, placed in the proper storage area and well-maintained Assist in displaying items for sale, with attention to proper labeling and pricing Conduct regular inventory checks, ensuring accuracy in records and preventing losses

Compliance & Security:

Adhere to all legal and compliance requirements for pawn transactions, ensuring all processes are followed correctly Verify customer identification and complete all required paperwork with precision Maintain a secure environment by following established safety protocols to protect customers, staff, and valuable inventory

Qualifications:

Veterans preferred Previous experience in a pawn shop, retail, or customer service role preferred Strong attention to detail, particularly when handling cash, appraising items, or documenting transactions High level of integrity and honesty in all interactions Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with customers Basic knowledge of jewelry, precious metals, electronics, or firearms is a plus Comfortable working in a fast-paced, customer-facing role Reliable, punctual, and able to work a consistent 40-hour workweek, including weekends Basic math, cash handling skills and proficiency with point-of-sale (POS) systems and computers
