Join the Boise Co-op as a Pet Store Associate! If you enjoy helping customers, staying active, and working around animals, this role may be a perfect fit. As a Pet Store Associate, you'll help create a welcoming, organized, and fun environment where both shoppers and their pets feel cared for. This position plays an important part in maintaining product freshness, store appearance, and exceptional customer service. What You'll Do Stock and rotate products accurately to ensure freshness and availability. Maintain clean, organized shelves, work areas, and product displays throughout the store. Apply labels and dates correctly and identify expired items according to department procedures. Assist with building and maintaining displays that support merchandising and promotional plans. Participate in quarterly inventory counts and help keep stock levels accurate. Help minimize shrink by proactively checking expiration dates and following rotation standards. Provide friendly, knowledgeable assistance to customers and their pets. Offer general support to the team and management by completing additional tasks as needed. What You Bring A strong work ethic and the ability to contribute positively to a team environment. Motivation to learn, grow, and take initiative in daily tasks. Clear, respectful communication skills when interacting with customers and coworkers. The ability to stay organized and manage responsibilities independently. Confidence in solving basic issues and willingness to seek help for more complex situations. Flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays when needed. Education and Experience Must be at least 16 years old or 18 or older to operate equipment as required by law. Must successfully pass a criminal background check. A High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred but not required. Physical and Work Environment This position requires standing or walking for extended periods, lifting up to 50 pounds, and frequent bending, reaching, and stocking. Work takes place in a lively pet supply retail environment with regular public interaction and occasional exposure to dogs, cats, and other animals brought in by customers. Comfort working around animals of varying sizes and temperaments is essential, as well as handling pet-related products such as food, treats, bedding, and cleaning supplies.
