Job Description

Part-time • $20•22/hr 25-30 hrs/week Thornes Marketplace, 150 Main St, Northampton About Us Lilla Swedish Candy is a fast-growing specialty candy brand bringing the Swedish tradition of lördagsgodis (Saturday candy) to the United States. We sell imported Swedish confectionery online through our Shopify store and TikTok Shop, and are opening our first brick-and-mortar location at Thornes Marketplace in Northampton in July 2026. Our store will be a beautiful, carefully designed space with self-serve pick-and-mix, a curated selection of pre-packaged candy, and Swedish homewares. We're looking for someone who wants to be part of building something special from the ground up. The Role You'll be the face of Lilla on weekends and Friday evenings; opening and closing the store, keeping the space beautiful, engaging customers, and making sure every person who walks in has a great experience.
This is an independent role:
you'll run the floor on your own, make decisions without someone looking over your shoulder, and take real ownership of the weekend operation. What You'll Do Open and close the store independently, following established procedures Keep pick-and-mix bins stocked, clean, labeled, and visually appealing throughout your shift Welcome customers warmly and share the Lilla brand story — the products, the Swedish tradition, what makes us different Handle cash and card transactions accurately using our POS system Maintain a clean, well-merchandised store floor Flag inventory needs and communicate daily observations to the owners Support occasional event setup and breakdown as needed Help onboard and supervise part-time flex staff when present Schedule Shifts begin 30 minutes before store opening for setup and end 30 minutes after close for breakdown and end-of-day procedures.

2:30 PM•8:30
PM Saturday:

Who We're Looking For Comfortable working independently and taking ownership of a space without constant supervision Warm, genuine, and great with people — from curious kids to adults looking for a gift Reliable and punctual — this is a small team and your shift matters Detail-oriented about how the store looks and feels Interested in food, culture, or retail — bonus if you have a connection to Scandinavia or specialty food Prior retail, café, or customer-facing experience preferred but not required Compensation $22•23/hr to start, based on experience 90-day review with path to $24•25/hr for the right person Reliability bonus for completing scheduled shifts Automatic pay increase at 90 days Staff discount on all Lilla products Ground floor opportunity with a grow
