Our sales associates are responsible for creating lasting impressions with our customers and celebrate their special occasions with them by helping to select or custom create the perfect piece of jewelry. Though helpful, prior jewelry sales in not required, however we strongly prefer some type of retail/ customer service experience. We offer excellent training in the 4Cs of diamonds, gemstones, design, appraising, social media and content creating, as well as jewelry repair if desired. The ideal candidate will be looking to grow their knowledge and take on new challenges. We are happy foster growth in specific areas that interest our associates. This can be a great opportunity for anyone wanting to be involved in a small business. Because we are small we often have to wear many hats and an ideal candidate would be willing to help us to grow even further. The ideal candidate should also feel comfortable around computers and be able to learn and adapt to new technology. Most of our customers prefer email and our information is all intranet based so feeling comfortable around technology is a requirement. The sales associate will also be responsible for maintaining professionalism both visually and verbally and confidently explain features and benefits of particular metals and gemstones while providing informed suggestions to customers. The sales associate should be able to work on their own but also with in the team to help maintain the cleanliness and standards of the sales floor. The sales associate will also need to learn the POS system and follow best practices for ringing through transactions, generating appraisals, returns, special orders, setting up repairs, and buying gold. Most importantly the sales associate needs to be able to provide outstanding customer service to every customer we serve. We are an eco-friendly and conflict free jewelry store that is family owned with two locations specializing in custom jewelry and American made lines. We provide flexible scheduling during the week and weekends (we can work around child care, college classes, etc.), paid sick time, and vacation time. We sell natural diamonds, lab grown diamonds, alternative styles, and natural gemstones. We have been in business as Blue River Diamonds since 2010 with three generations of jeweler experience. We have a smaller loyal staff. On top of hourly we pay commission and bonuses. We are looking to hire for our Peabody location but would ideally prefer someone willing to work at our Gloucester location on occasion.
