Job Description
Job Summary The Ice Cream Scooper is responsible for providing friendly, efficient, and accurate service to all customers while maintaining a clean, welcoming, and organized shop environment. This position plays a key role in creating a positive guest experience through excellent customer service, proper product handling, and adherence to company policies and food safety standards. Daytime availability is a requirement for this position. Key Responsibilities Customer Service Greet customers promptly and courteously Scoop and serve ice cream, frappes, sundaes, and other menu items according to portion and presentation standards Answer questions about flavors, toppings, allergens, and menu offerings Process transactions accurately using the POS system Resolve customer concerns politely and escalate to management when needed Product & Food Handling Follow all food safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards Properly handle ice cream, toppings, cones, cups, and dairy products Restock ice cream, toppings, and supplies as needed Ensure portion control standards are consistently followed Retail & Shop Duties Maintain cleanliness of serving areas, counters, freezers, and dining spaces Wash dishes, utensils, and equipment as assigned Assist with opening and/or closing duties, including cleaning and restocking Monitor inventory levels and notify management of low stock Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety guidelines Team & Professionalism Work cooperatively with team members and management Maintain punctuality and reliability for scheduled shifts Follow timekeeping and scheduling procedures Represent the business professionally at all times Qualifications & Requirements Previous customer service or food service experience preferred, but not required Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs Strong communication and interpersonal skills Must be dependable and detail-oriented Daytime availability is required (including weekdays and peak daytime hours) Work Environment Ice cream and retail setting with exposure to cold freezers Fast-paced, customer-facing role Flexible scheduling within business needs
