Sales Associate

Macleod Furniture, a local, family owned appliance and furniture store in Belfast, ME is looking for a Sales Associate to join our team. We feel like we have the best salespeople--not because they con customers into paying more, but because they work hard to do right by our customers, who in truth are our friends and neighbors. That makes this a hard role to fill. The right candidate for this Sales Associate position would be reliable, honest and trustworthy, have excellent customer service skills, common sense, and the ability to troubleshoot problems. The Sales Associate candidate must also be friendly, able to multitask, and willing to pitch in wherever help is needed in the business. As part of a small family business, all of our team members do a little bit of everything around the shop in addition to assisting customers. The duties of this position include, but are not limited to: answering the phones, running the cash register, assisting customers in the store, accepting deliveries, learning about our products, placing customer and vendor orders, cleaning --dusting, vacuuming, bathrooms, etc. Loading and unloading product as needed Assembling and pricing items as needed And other duties as required This is a full time year round position, with Heath Insurance, dental insurance, and vacation time provided. It is a physical position requiring the ability to stand and walk for 8 or more hours, climb stairs, and lift and carry at least 65 lbs. We are open Monday through Saturday and this position will encompass 5 days per week and be part of the Saturday rotation .
