Job Description
Overview As a Gift Shop Attendant , you are responsible for assisting customers throughout their visit. The daily responsibilities of a Gift Shop Attendant are as follows: Warmly greeting customers entering the shop and offering assistance Selling tickets to The Original Butterfly House and Insect World Being knowledgeable and providing accurate information about our product to our guests Providing information to guests about the local amenities Building the confidence of the guest by offering advice and/or opinions about items Helping to maintain accurate inventory Alerting management of low inventory items Maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of the shop Rearranging merchandise to generate new attention to products Ringing up sales using our Clover Point of Sale system Willing to work in team setting Taking photos for social media and assiting with social media posts If you are an enthusiastic individual who enjoys working with others, this is the perfect position for you. Must be a people person, comfortable with high volumes of foot traffic. The available shifts are for the hours of 9:00 am - 6 pm and 11:30 am - 8 pm, 5 days a week. The position begins upon hiring and ends October 31st, 2026. Housing is available on Mackinac Island for $100/week.
