Guest Services / Operations ClimbZone at Mall of America Bloomington, MN Job Details Part-time $16 an hour 20 hours ago Qualifications Personal service experience with children Full Job Description ClimbZone at Mall of America features 44 uniquely themed climbing walls that scale as high as 40 feet nearing the glass ceiling inside Nickelodeon Universe! We are actively hiring for three part-time Guest Experience Specialists to help create a safe, fun, and welcoming experience for every ClimbZone guest. This position is part-time. Starting pay is $16, and enjoy free climbing passes for yourself and your family when visiting together. Employees are also eligible for discounts with many Mall of America stores. Responsibilities when working in the lobby: Greet incoming guests and provide answers to general questions. Look up guest reservations on the computer using a phone number or Booking ID. Confirm a waiver is complete for every climber. Use the Point of Sale (POS) to sell admission passes, collect payment, and make accurate change for cash transactions. Issue wristbands to climbers. Help guests step into their harness, verify the harness is being worn correctly, and tighten all straps to ensure safety. Train guests in the "Training Zone" before allowing access to the climbing floor. Assist guests as needed with removing their harness after climbing. Answer the phone and provide general assistance. Express appreciation to our guests and thank them for visiting. Responsibilities when working on the climbing floor: Monitor an assigned area of the climbing floor. Stay attentive and maintain a constant awareness of happenings in your assigned area. Interact with guests as appropriate. Examples include offering advice to successfully climb a specific wall, sharing wall recommendations based on age or skill level, and offering encouragement for kids. Proactively approach guests who appear to be struggling and offer assistance. Politely address rule violations with tact, urgency, and consistency.
Miscellaneous responsibilities:
Assist with cleaning responsibilities including wiping down surfaces, dusting, emptying garbage cans, sweeping, vacuuming, and mopping as needed. Assist with restocking as needed. Additional responsibilities as assigned; this list is not comprehensive.
Preferred Qualifications:
16 years of age or older. Reliable attendance for all scheduled shifts. Ability to climb walls up to 40 feet to assist guests as needed, or for a trained emergency response. This is uncommon but an ability to do so is critical. Ability to squat down frequently, or place one knee on the ground (on padded surface) to help guests step into their harness. Enjoys working with children and families. Patient and supportive personality, especially towards children. Ability and confidence to address rule violations with guests. Ability to speak a second language is preferred. Ability to pass a criminal background check. Attitude is equally important to traditional job experience. New job seekers are encouraged to apply!
