Part-time sales associate

Hilltop Tobacco Shop is looking for a friendly, reliable part-time sales associate to join our team. You'll help customers find the right products, keep the store running smoothly, and ensure we stay compliant with all tobacco regulations. Evening and weekend availability is a plus. Responsibilities Greet and assist customers in selecting tobacco products, accessories, and related items Verify customer age per state law and store policy — every transaction, no exceptions Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system and handle cash and card transactions accurately Stock shelves, rotate inventory, and maintain a clean, organized store environment Learn product knowledge across cigarettes, cigars, pipe tobacco, vaping products, and accessories Open/close the store as needed and follow all security procedures Comply with all local, state, and federal tobacco retail regulations Requirements Must be 18 years of age or older Friendly, customer-focused attitude with strong communication skills Reliable and punctual with flexible availability, including evenings and weekends Basic math and cash-handling skills Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 lbs Prior retail or tobacco industry experience a plus, but not required — we train!
