POSITION OVERVIEW
As a Budtender | Front Desk | Fulfillment Specialist at Pot Mamas, you are the heart of our customer experience. You'll float seamlessly between three critical roles: educating and guiding customers as a budtender, creating a warm first impression at the front desk, and ensuring precise order fulfillment behind the scenes. This is not a transactional retail job—this is a trusted guide position for customers navigating their cannabis wellness journey, many for the first time. You'll embody the Pot Mamas mission: creating a judgment-free, education-first, luxury wellness experience that breaks grass ceilings and redefines what a dispensary can be.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIESBUDTENDER DUTIES
Education First, Sales Second:
Provide personalized, expert guidance to customers exploring cannabis for wellness, sleep, anxiety relief, pain management, creativity, and connection
Product Knowledge Mastery:
Maintain deep understanding of our curated product selection, including strain types (indica, sativa, hybrid), consumption methods (flower, edibles, tinctures, vapes), THC/CBD ratios, terpene profiles, and dosing guidelines
Personalized Consultations:
Conduct thoughtful, unhurried consultations that match customers to products based on their wellness goals, experience level, and lifestyle—never rush, never pressure
Destigmatization Ambassador:
Create a safe, welcoming environment for first-time and cannabis-curious customers; normalize cannabis use as a wellness tool
Compliance Champion:
Ensure all customer interactions, product recommendations, and transactions comply with Minnesota Office of Cannabis Management regulations
Community Builder:
Foster genuine connection with customers; remember their preferences, check in on their experience, and help them feel seen and valued
FRONT DESK DUTIES
First Impression Excellence:
Greet every customer with warmth, professionalism, and a genuine welcome—set the tone for the Pot Mamas experience
Check-In & Verification:
Verify customer identification (21+), manage waitlist or appointment flow, and ensure smooth entry into the retail space
Concierge Service:
Answer general questions, provide initial guidance, and direct customers to the right team member or area
Atmosphere Management:
Maintain a calm, organized, aesthetically cohesive front desk area that reflects our luxury wellness brand
Customer Communication:
Handle phone inquiries, respond to basic questions, and schedule consultations or events as needed
FULFILLMENT DUTIES
Order Accuracy:
Prepare customer orders with precision—verify product selection, dosage, quantity, and customer preferences
Inventory Management:
Maintain organized product storage, assist with restocking, and flag low inventory to management
Packaging Standards:
Ensure all orders meet Pot Mamas' luxury packaging philosophy—clean, intentional, compliant, and elevated
METRC Compliance:
Accurately track all product movement in Minnesota's seed-to-sale tracking system; maintain meticulous records
Quality Control:
Inspect product packaging for damage, expiration dates, and compliance labeling before fulfillment
Behind-the-Scenes Excellence:
Keep fulfillment area clean, organized, and operationally efficient at all times
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Essential:
21+ years of age (Minnesota legal requirement) High school diploma or equivalent Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills — you can read people, build trust quickly, and create genuine connection Commitment to education and service — you prioritize learning and helping others over transactional sales Judgment-free mindset — you meet people where they are without bias or stigma Attention to detail — accuracy matters in compliance, fulfillment, and customer care Adaptability — you can float between roles, adjust to customer flow, and handle shifting priorities with grace Professional presentation — you represent a luxury wellness brand in appearance, demeanor, and communication
Availability:
Flexible scheduling including evenings, weekends, and holidays (operating hours: 10am-8pm daily)
Preferred:
Previous retail, hospitality, or customer service experience (luxury retail, wellness, or boutique environments a plus) Cannabis industry experience (budtending, dispensary operations, or cannabis education) Knowledge of cannabis strains, consumption methods, and wellness applications Experience with point-of-sale (POS) systems and inventory management software Background in therapy, coaching, wellness, or related fields

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to stand for extended periods (up to 8 hours) Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs (product inventory, supplies) Manual dexterity for handling product packaging and operating POS systems Clear verbal communication for customer consultations and team coordination
