Job Summary Join our vibrant team as a Thrift Store Team Member and be the friendly face that creates an inviting shopping experience! In this dynamic role, you will be responsible for assisting customers, managing merchandise, and ensuring the store runs smoothly. Your enthusiasm and excellent communication skills will help foster a welcoming environment where customers feel valued and inspired to find unique treasures. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop retail skills while making a positive impact in your community. •Must have a valid driver's license and a Real ID. Real ID will be used to submit employee for a Fort Leonard Wood post pass. Applicant must be able to pass a federal background check. Responsibilities Greet customers warmly and provide exceptional customer service to enhance their shopping experience Operate the POS (Point of Sale) system efficiently for sales transactions, returns, and donations Stock shelves, organize merchandise, and ensure the store is clean, attractive, and well-maintained Assist with merchandising efforts by arranging displays and rotating stock to maximize visual appeal Handle cash, process payments accurately, and maintain proper cash handling procedures Support inventory management by stocking new items (includes testing, cleaning and pricing before placing on the sales floor) Quick decision making abilities to process clothing and hard good donations The willingness to follow established policies and procedures Skills Previous retail sales or cashiering experience preferred; familiarity with POS systems is a plus Strong communication skills with the ability to engage customers effectively Knowledge of merchandising techniques is advantageous Excellent phone etiquette for handling inquiries professionally Ability to upsell products and promote store specials confidently Basic math skills for cash handling, sales calculations, and retail math tasks Demonstrated customer service skills with a friendly, approachable demeanor Familiarity with stock management, merchandising, and thrift store environments enhances performance Operate equipment: Box truck, baler, trash compactor and forklift Join us in creating a lively shopping atmosphere where every customer leaves with a smile!
